Public Bond Forum Monday 2/2/26
The Board of Education is holding a Public Forum related to the proposed Capital Projects Bond. Members of the public are invited to share their views about the proposed projects either in person or via Zoom on Monday, February 2nd, at 6:30 PM. The Forum will begin with a review of the process to date, and outline the project scope and budget. Critically, the presentation will also include new information related to the intial plan for project phasing and financial impact on taxpayers
5 Things to Know about the Proposed Bond
Here are 5 things to know about the Capital Projects Bond:
  1. The current scope of work stands at $98.69 million and was shaped by repeated feedback from the community.
  2. The program addresses vital infrastructure improvements, new and renovated classroom and library spaces, upgrades to learning spaces in the form of air conditioning, and field improvement projects.
  3. The plan touches every school, preserves elementary class sizes and school boundaries, and continues responsible investments in our 100+ year old buildings.
  4. If approved, the impact on taxpayers would begin in 2027-28 with an increase of $64.57 for the average assessed home ($1.32 million) and increase annually to a peak amount of $406.53 in 2033-34.
  5. The public is invited to comment on the proposal Monday night at 6:30 PM, with a public vote expected on May 19, 2026.
Register Your Incoming Kindergartener!
Current residents who expect to have a child attend Kindergarten during the 2026-27 school year are encouraged to complete the Kindergarten Registration process between January 15 and January 30, 2026. Although prospective Kindergarteners may register at any time prior to the start of the school year, completing this process early ensures a smooth screening and placement process. Children whose fifth birthday falls on or before December 31, 2026, may be registered for the 2026-27 school year. Please contact District Registrar Nunzia Mauro at (914) 721-2444 or via email to registrar@scarsdaleschools.org.

Reclaim the Game
With the Superbowl coming up, Scarsdale Action for Youth has an important prevention message to share.
Gambling and alcohol use impact the adolescent brain in the same way. In fact, teens who gamble and drink alcohol are more likely to develop mental health and addiction issues. America 250/Scarsdale 325 Flag Design Contest
In celebration of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States and the 325th anniversary of Scarsdale, the Village will be hosting a Flag Design Contest to mark the occasion. Residents of all ages are invited to create a unique design that celebrates these milestones and showcases our vibrant community. Flags should be representative of both our Village and our country, tying together local and national history. The winning design will be transformed into a physical flag that will be flown at Village Hall and other Village properties throughout 2026. Residents are encouraged to use their creativity and join us in commemorating these important anniversaries. Entries must be received by March 20 at 5 PM. Click here for complete details and here for the design submission form. Please contact Assistant Village Manager Ruby Tower with any questions at rtower@scarsdale.gov.
