Y.E.S. is a nonprofit community organization staffed by volunteers to bring together bright, responsible Scarsdale students, 14 years and older, with employers in homes and businesses in Scarsdale. Students have filled jobs as tutors, baby-sitters, mother's helpers, party aides, sales, office & stock clerks, delivery persons, painters, snow shovelers, arts & crafts helpers, sports helpers, computer/word processors, and much more!  Each year hundreds of jobs are listed and FILLED!

Students can register and search for jobs online, and employers can register and list jobs online as well.

Y.E.S. also maintains an office at Scarsdale High School. During the school year, the office is open to students Monday through Friday from 11:30am to 1:30pm, and during the summer, with more limited hours.

The services of Y.E.S., now in its 40th year, are provided to students and employers at no charge.

Do you know what anabolic-androgenic steroids are and why these drugs are dangerous?

Steroids are used to build muscle but they are illegal when used without a prescription from a doctor.Some teens abuse steroids not knowing that there are very dangerous side-effects such as prematurely stunting growth, accelerated puberty changes and abnormal sexual development. Adolescent girls in particular may suffer from severe acne, excessive body and facial hair, deepened voice, disruption of the menstrual cycle, and permanent infertility.

A monthly conversation starter from the Scarsdale Task Force on Drugs & Alcohol

The Scarsdale Task Force on Drugs & Alcohol is a community action group made up of concerned individuals, representatives of the schools, the Village, local, social and civic organizations and religious institutions. The Task Force educates youth and adults about drugs and alcohol, helps people develop drug-free attitudes and habits, and recommends resources to those whose lives are affected by drugs and alcohol dependency.

Established in 1998, The Center @ 862 (formerly the Scarsdale Teen Center) is an updated lounge space located in the heart of downtown Scarsdale.  Provided for teens as an environment where they can interact with their peers and engage in safe, recreational, social and educational programs and activities, The Center @ 862 is a teen designed space and a comfortable venue for this unique social opportunity.  Here teens can explore and share their interests in a supervised, substance-free environment.  For more information, visit http://www.thecenter862.com.
