About My Classroom In Butler 6 English, students will focus on the major components of the New York State English curriculum. Specifically, they will study structured analytical writing, especially in response to literature; basic grammar, including parts of speech, sentence structures and errors, and simple mechanics; literary elements, examined primarily in the context of short stories and novels; poetic devices; and vocabulary. Additionally, students will practice public speaking, sharpening their ability to organize content logically and to deliver speeches or to read text with poise and fluency. |
