4th QUARTER:
Approved Senior Options Proposal: You may not start Senior Options without
an approved Proposal and written Proposal
Contract signature form. If for any reason you must resubmit a proposal
and/or it is not approved until after 5/2/08, you will be given until
5/9/08 to obtain approval. If that occurs, you must still work the total
minimum required hours before you may do your presentation. If you do
not have an approved proposal by 5/9/08 you may not start Senior Options
and must do a Summer School version in order to graduate.
Satisfaction of all Project requirements:
TIME ON TASK: 30 hours/week for each week, minimum 5 days worked per
week. If you commute 10 hours/week or more, your minimum requirement
is reduced to 25 hours/week.
TIME LOG: Filled out and signed weekly
by sponsor to be given to mentor weekly
INVESTIGATION OF ESSENTIAL QUESTION:
Clearly verifiable by mentor in your journal and at your weekly mentor
meetings. Conduct a quality investigation of your essential question
through a variety of methods (i.e. experience, observation, research,
reading, interviewing).
JOURNAL ENTRIES: Daily, thoughtful, and reflective. (See sections on
important tips and procedures Journal
Requirements, and questions for
journal entries)
WEEKLY MENTOR MEETINGS: Regular, at least once a week for the equivalent
of a class period. Meet a minimum of once a week with your mentor. Bring
your journal and time log for your mentor to review with you. (SEE:
important tips and procedures)
PRESENTATION AND FEEDBACK: @ half hour public reflection and explanation
of your project (See section on Presentation
procedures, Presentation Tips and
Suggestions and Feedback Tips and Suggestions)
PROGRAM MENTEE EVALUATION SUBMITTED:
provide feedback of program to us.
BE APPROPRIATE: Dress appropriately and abide by appropriate site rules
and regulations.
POTENTIAL GROUNDS FOR FAILURE: Work for pay or compensation, even for
transportation;
Work at a place of present employment; Be supervised by or work with
a family member; or
Have any conflicts of interest.
Midway through Senior Options progress reports will be sent out. Those
in danger of failing may also have letters sent to their colleges notifying
them as well.
FAILURE OF SENIOR OPTIONS REQUIRES COMPLETION OVER THE SUMMER TO RECEIVE
YOUR DIPLOMA. A LETTER WILL BE SENT TO YOUR COLLEGE NOTIFYING THEM OF
YOUR FAILURE.
