Bye Bye Birdie
 
 
On February 9, 2013, Heathcote will perform the classic favorite Bye Bye Birdie.
 
Be a part of this timeless musical! In just two weeks time, KJK Productions will come to Heathcote, cast the show, provide staffing, costumes and scenery, and present a full-scale theatrical performance.
 
This exciting opportunity is open to all Heathcote students in Grades 1 through 5.
 
 
Key Dates:

Registration begins online at 9:00 AM

Registration ends online at 5:00 PM

Casting for Grades 3 through 5 at 3:15-5:45 PM
January 28 to February 8
Play rehearsal from 3:15-5:30 PM
(Note: First week of rehearsal, Grades 1 and 2 will rehearse from 3:15-4:15 PM; the second week the full cast will stay the entire rehearsal.)
 
February 9               
Performances at 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM
 
 
Casting:  Children in Grades 1-2 will be cast as members of the ensemble. These roles have ample stage time and include lines that are spoken in unison, group songs and dance numbers. Auditions will be held for children in Grades 3-5 to cast the larger speaking and singing roles. In this production, the character roles are divided to give more children an opportunity to get involved.
 
Rehearsals:  All rehearsals will occur directly after school, on Monday through Friday, January 28 to February 8. The performances will take place on Saturday, February 9 at 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM in the Heathcote Auditorium. Due to the very short two-week rehearsal time, children may be excused from rehearsals only for illness, otherwise they risk losing their roles in the production.
 
Fee:  The fee to participate is $185 per child. There will be no after-school clubs running during this period and all rehearsals and performances will take place at Heathcote.
 
 
Registration begins Monday, December 3, 2012 at 9:00 AM. Please click here to register and submit your full payment electronically. Registration must be completed no later than 5:00 PM on Friday, December 7, 2012.
 
 
Please note:  We hope to accommodate all students, but KJK Productions mandates the number of children allowed in the cast. In the event we are oversubscribed, we will use a lottery system for all children that have completed registration by the close of the online date. There will be two lotteries: one for Grades 1-2 ensemble parts, and one for Grades 3-5 speaking and singing roles.
