About my classroom General music class at Greenacres Elementary is a place for learning through singing, dancing, playing, listening and creating. My goal is to facilitate and cultivate every child's knowledge, understanding and love for music and I believe strongly in the integration of movement (dance and creative movement) and music as essential to that learning. The music classroom environment is one of respect, support and encouragement while providing opportunity for the risk-taking and challenge of improvisation and composition. Students are provided with information and experiences and encouraged to deepen their understanding of these through manipulation of these skills in creating something of their own. Music Schedule Greenacres follows a 6 day rotational cycle Third Graders have general music two times every rotation for 40 minutes each session. Fourth Graders have general music with their own class, once every rotation for 45 minutes, and chorus with the entire grade level, once each rotation for 45minutes. |
