The third grade instrumental program is an exploratory program for all Scarsdale 3rd grade students. Your child has the choice of trying violin, cello, clarinet or baritone. The opportunity presented allows students to understand and experience the joy of playing a musical instrument. The students are exposed to these four instruments (violin, cello, clarinet and baritone) for 8-10 weeks. The students have the chance to play each one of these instruments and then choose one to continue for the remainder of the school year. Renting an instrument for your child to practice on at home is strongly recommended. Having an instrument at home to practice greatly increases the students' ability to play and develop proper technique and skill on their chosen instrument.
