The Board of Education comprises seven unpaid citizens elected to staggered three year terms. The Board establishes broad goals and policy, delegates the Superintendent of Schools and professional staff the authority to achieve those goals, and broadly evaluates progress. Individual trustees act in authority only when assembled as a Board. Meetings occur twice monthly during the academic year and are open to the public. Residents have two opportunities at each meeting to speak on matters of interest.

Announcements

The Board of Education of the Scarsdale Union Free School District will hold the following meetings:     

  • Budget Forum, Wednesday, April 11, 2012, 8:00 p.m., Room 170-172, Scarsdale High School (Brewster Road side of the school in the Board of Education wing). Members of the public are cordially invited to be present and to speak at designated times.

  • Budget Study Session, Wednesday, April 11, 2012, immediately following the 8:00 p.m. Budget Forum, in Room 170-172 in Scarsdale High School (Brewster Road side of the school in the Board of Education wing). The Board will review the community’s input on the proposed budget. The meeting is open to the public.
